Ticket Browser Extension

Allowing clients to file tickets on the fly

Problem

  • Issues get noticed in the middle of doing something else, and the cost of switching to a tracker means they don't get filed at all.

  • Tickets written later are missing what the person actually saw: the URL, the state, the screen.

  • Reproducing a vaguely described issue often takes longer than fixing it.

  • So the real bug list ends up in chat messages, where it has no owner and no status.

Solution

  • A browser extension that submits a ticket straight into the board from whatever page you're already on.

  • URL and screen capture attached automatically, with no extra steps for the reporter.

  • The ticket lands in the same queue as everything else, with an owner and a status.

  • Filing takes less time than describing the issue to someone else would.

Result

  • Issues get filed at the moment they're noticed.

  • Tickets arrive carrying the context needed to reproduce them.

  • No parallel bug list living in chat threads.
