AI and data use

How Janus uses AI, what information is processed, and how people review the results.

Drafting and human review

Janus uses AI to help draft and organize epics, features, work items, requirements, user stories, documentation, meeting-derived insights, and plans. Anthropic supports drafting, synthesis, and planning. Relevant project text, meeting excerpts, and approved document content may be sent to its API. The project lead reviews and refines outputs; generated content and schedules may contain errors.

AI-assisted scheduling and reporting do not automatically amend agreed scope, fees, delivery dates, or acceptance terms. Customers and the project lead remain responsible for approving commitments.

Finding related information

Janus uses OpenAI embeddings to help find related project information. Selected project text is sent to OpenAI for this purpose.

Embeddings are numerical representations of text used to find related information. They are not anonymous data. Generated content and embeddings remain subject to customer access and retention requirements.

Permitted information and provider handling

Document approval must cover any AI processing. Browser-extension captures and submitted files may enter AI processing only when authorized for the selected workflow. The presence of content in Janus does not itself authorize every possible AI use.

The service terms prohibit selling customer content, using it for advertising, or using it to train general-purpose models when those terms are incorporated into the customer’s agreement. Provider accounts used for that engagement must support the same restrictions.

The service provider register identifies the providers involved and their locations. Processing and retention arrangements are agreed before use. Primary hosting regions do not establish every downstream AI processing location.
